Traditional education often focuses on completing courses and collecting certificates rather than developing the ability to solve real problems. I founded Vertical Combinator to create a practical, high-agency environment where candidates learn by building real things, understand how the industry actually works, and develop the genuine capability to pursue a career or launch something of their own.
The Real Problem
Course completion does not equal capability. Most learners get trapped in tutorial loops, watching lectures and accumulating passive credentials without ever experiencing the reality of building from scratch, navigating uncertainty, or receiving candid feedback.
